Brightway Insurance Agency Owner, Marcus Barbee, opens office in Bloomington, Illinois

BLOOMINGTON, ILL. — Marcus Barbee opened Brightway, The Barbee Agency a year ago, and today announced the opening of his office location at 1319 North Veterans Parkway, Suite 3B-102 (in the brick business plaza next to Burger King).

“I’ve been operating out of my home for the past year due to the COVID-19 pandemic and am pleased to welcome consumers who prefer to do business in person to my new office in Bloomington,” said Barbee. “I’m also happy to do business by telephone at 309-215-9383 and by email at marcus.barbee@brightway.com.”

Barbee has lived in Bloomington for the past 19 years. Prior to joining Brightway, he retired from State Farm where he worked on the Information Technology team for 18 years. Prior to that, he was a Mail Carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for nearly nine years and served Honorably in the U.S. Army for nearly seven years. Barbee graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Information Systems. He and wife, Shirley, of 29 years have three children and three grandchildren. Barbee is a member of and the Past Chapter President of the Black Data Processing Associates and is actively involved as a Publisher in a local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. For fun, he enjoys golfing, boating, fishing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Barbee enjoys helping his friends and neighbors in Central Illinois with their insurance needs and being involved in the community where he lives and works.
