Strong roots are all it takes to grow a successful business in Alachua County. For Alachua native Sherri Webb, her success was planted deep in her DNA decades ago.

Beginning next week, the daughter of the Forest Grove Tree Farm family will see her newest venture begin to blossom as she opens Brightway, The Sherri Webb Agency insurance office.

The life-long insurance pro made the decision to open her own Tech City Circle business this coming Monday after more than thirty years in the industry. For many, the insurance industry can be a tough nut to crack. But for a child of chestnut and pecan tree farmers, it’s a business that the 57-year-old Sunshine State native is proud to make accessible to her community.

“People have been coming and picking their own pecans and chestnuts for more than 20 years,” Webb said. “You pick, you pay. It’s a philosophy that really goes with the new agency, too.” Brightway, The Sherri Webb Agency will offer various property and casualty coverage options by way of multiple carriers.

The 1983 Santa Fe High School alum grew up in the fields of her family’s farm along 94th Avenue in Alachua.

“I never had a plan to be in farming myself. However, my mom and dad really laid the foundation for how to plant the seeds and grow a good business right here at home,” Webb said.

Over the years, Sherri’s parents wore many hats in Alachua County including that of a mail carrier, a school bus driver, a farmer and even an aerospace engineer. “We were a really well-rounded family that could relate to life in Alachua better than most,” Webb added. “I’m so excited to be able to provide ways to help our families not only protect what’s important to them, but also help them continue to grow.”
