How long have you worked at Brightway?
I initially started at Brightway in November 2009 as an Administrative Assistant. I moved into the Carrier Liaison position and soon transitioned into leading the Carrier Appointments and Licensing departments. While working full-time, I was pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, which I achieved in 2014. In 2015 I left Brightway for a short period to pursue a job in my degree field, but the passion was not there. Being the amazing company it is, I reached back out to Brightway, and they hired me back in 2016 as a Special Projects Manager in the Service Department. In the next three years I grew tremendously by developing the Book Transfer team and leading the successful Safeco Book transfer in 2017 and handling the Florida Specialty receivership in 2019. I was then promoted to Service Operations Manager over Renewals, Processing and Special Projects, and now I am the Service Operations Manager for the entire Service department.
What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is solving problems and helping others achieve their full potential. I get the most joy from seeing those around me succeed and achieve their goals. I love taking a negative situation whether it be for a customer, agent or employee and finding a way to make it a positive one.
What advice do you have for other employees?
Work hard and always do your best. You can achieve anything you put your mind to with a positive attitude. There is no limit to the opportunities or growth at Brightway if you are willing to put in the work and dedication.
If a movie was made of your life, what genre would it be and who would play you?
It would have to be a comedy because there is no way to not laugh at some of the things that happen to me. I would like to say Sophia Bush because I love her, One Tree Hill for life!
If you could meet anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
It would have to be my Grandpa. He passed away in 2018, and I would give anything to be fishing next to him at the pond and listen to his stories just one more time.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Steak, without question.
If you could befriend any fictional character, who do you choose and why?
Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. No explanation needed.
