Ruben came to Brightway from Hewlett Packard, where he spent 30 years as a Procurement Manager and conducted business internationally and cross-culturally. He earned a degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering from the University of Guadalajara, Mexico (Universidad de Guadalajara) and a Master in Business Administration from Monterrey Institute of Technology in Monterrey, Mexico.

Ruben runs the business with his wife, Blanca, who is a Realtor. The Tamayos have two children and live in Houston.

They are part of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Houston, through which they volunteer. After Hurricane Harvey hit in 2017, they delivered food to affected people in the community. Ruben also coaches youth through Destination Imagination.

Born in Mexico, Ruben speaks fluent English and Spanish. He loves travelling, staying active and running long-distance races.

As a Brightway Agency Owner, Ruben enjoys bringing more choice and customer-focus to help his friends and neighbors.

With Blanca's expertise in real estate, she brings a unique perspective to Brightway that equips the Agency to provide complementary services to Homeowners and more. 

She also brings to Brightway 15 years’ experience in Accounting and Finance at Hewlett Packard.
